Aftercare
Care routine - please read carefully, this is very important if you want your permanent makeup to heal well and retain the colour. Extra top up sessions will result in a fee!
ABSORB - Only Day 1
Gently blot the area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every 15 minutes for the full first day or until any oozing has stopped. Removing this fluids prevents hardening of the lymph and excessive scabbing which is very important for the best healed results.
WASH & MOISTERISE - Day 1-7
Wash daily to remove bacteria and lymph fluid from the skins surface.
Gently wash your eyebrows morning and night using the foaming cleanser provided in your aftercare bag. Pump out a 2 pence coin size amount of the foam cleanser onto each brow, with a very light touch and clean hands. Use your fingertips to gently cleanse the brows. Rub in smooth circular motions for 5 seconds on each brow. Then using a cotton pad and water, gently wipe away the cleanser. Repeat this until all soap residue has been washed away from the brows. Make sure you then blot the brows completely dry with a tissue or cotton pad. DO NOT use any other cleansing product, exfoliator, moisturisers etc on or near the brows.
Be extra careful when the brows are in the flaking process when you wash so as to not pull away any scabs prematurely.
After this process apply a grain of rice sized amount of the aftercare with a cotton swab and pat it along the treated area. Be sure not to over apply as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment shouldn’t be too noticeable on your skin. Do make sure your eyebrows are completely dry from moisture before this step!
Repeat this wash, blot, and moisturize routine every morning and evening until day 7!!
· Keep your brows completely out of the sun, make sure that you wear a visor, hat, sunglasses etc. when outside.
· Sun exposure will alter the retention and the colour of all permanent makeup both new and old.
· For the first 2 weeks avoid activities that make you sweat, this is very important to healing as sweating can push out the pigment.
· No saunas, makeup on the area, swimming, gym, sports, hot showers or baths for two weeks while the brows heal.
· Use a fresh pillowcase.
· Let any scabbing or flaking fall away naturally as picking or rubbing can cause loss of colour.
· No facials, chemical treatments or sunbeds for atleast 4 weeks after treatment.
· Avoid long hot baths or showers for 10 days.
· Avoid makeup or any facial products on or near the area for the first 2 weeks.
What to expect - days are different for everyone
· Immediately after – shape may appear uneven due to swelling.
· Day 2-5 - Eyebrows will appear darker and thicker.
· Day 5-10 - Eyebrows will be dry and itchy do not scratch, rub, or pick at it. Eyebrows will/might start to scab, crack and flake off, eyebrows will look patchy and uneven during this healing process- this is completely normal. Please DO NOT PANIC.
· Day 7-15 - Scabs should be all gone Sometimes eyebrows will appear as if there is no colour and it has all gone at this stage. The remaining color will be under a few layers of skin and may take a few weeks to resurface as the skin cells repair.
· Week 2-4 - eyebrows will start to appear as the true healed colour. In some rare cases the eyebrows will not retain color well and may be patchy and uneven but this will be corrected in the touch up session.
· Week 4-8 - come back in for a touch up so that any corrections can be made.
· The healed result varies depending on skin type, environmental and hormonal factors but if the aftercare is followed correctly you should get the best possible result!
