Pre-treatment Advice

What you need to know

Permanent cosmetic treatments can require multiple treatment sessions. For best results, you may need to return for at least one touch up treatment between four and eight weeks after the initial treatment.

Be prepared for the colour to be significantly sharper and darker immediately after the treatment. This will subside and become lighter as the tissue heals. This process can take up to 10 days.

Advice for all permanent cosmetic treatments:

✔ Since delicate skin or sensitive area may be swollen or red, it is advised that you do not make social plans for the same day

✔ Please wear your normal natural make up to the salon on the day of the treatment if you feel more comfortable to have them on - make up on the area to be treated will be removed upon your arrival as part of the preparation for the session.

✔ A sensitivity patch test is offered - details can be found in the Terms and Conditions, however waiver is available on the day of the treatment.

✘ Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen or coumadin for 2 days before and 2 days after the treatment. However, you must not discontinue any medication before consulting your doctor.

✘ Do not drink alcohol the night before your treatment.

Eyebrow treatments:

✔ Any waxing should be performed at least 48 hours before the treatment: Electrolysis no less than 5 days before the treatment.

✔ Threading is not a problem to the procedure but the specialist would prefer seeing the natural hair growth

✔ Eyebrow tinting should not be undertaken for 2 weeks prior to the treatment.

Eye treatments:

✔ Any eyelash tinting or eyelash perming should be carried out no sooner than 1 week before or 2 weeks after the treatment.

✔ You may have some swelling. As a safety precaution, we recommend that you have someone available to drive you home.

✘ Do not wear contact lenses for or immediately following the treatment. Remember to bring your glasses. You may resume wearing your contact lenses as soon as your eyes feel comfortable (normally 24 hours after the treatment)

✘ Do not wear false lashes or lash extension as the procedure will dislocate/ remove them

Lip contour/lip blush:

✔ If you have a history of cold sores (herpes simplex), we advise you to contact your doctor to obtain the proper prescription medication to prevent such outbreak

✔ Alternatively, obtaining herpes medication - e.g. Zovirax from your local chemist and use one week before and one week after your treatment. This can help minimise an outbreak.✔ Permanent Cosmetic treatments do not cause cold sores, however, if you carry the virus, it lays dormant in the body and can be aroused by the treatment.

✘ Lip wax or bleaching treatments should not be undertaken for at least a two-week period preceding your permanent cosmetic treatment.

✘ Having Juvederm or other lips fillers prior to the booked session needs clearance from the Juvederm technician and a minimum 4 weeks gap before our lips treatment or 8 weeks after.
